SexEx – Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

SexEx to be rebranded as Sexpo, hotter than ever after being pulled from the ashes by original operators!
David Ross, often referred to as Mr. Sexpo, conceived and launched Sexpo in Australia, in 1996, before exporting the event to South Africa in 2007, and then London in 2015, however has had no interest in Sexpo Australia since before the 2019 sale of the event to Australian Exhibition Group Pty. Ltd. and therefore played no part in the demise of the event he launched in 1996.
David says, “the new operators strayed from the original concept of producing female friendly events that are inclusive, a place for fun and celebration, events that showcase more than just sex-related content, including spa pool sales, glamour photography studios, fashion and accessories, beauty services, and more.
Since Sexpo Australia announced on 23/09/24 that it was indefinitely postponing all future events and then went into liquidation, David has been planning to revive the event he launched in 1996.
“You only get one Alan Bond in your lifetime, and I’ve had mine,” – Kerry Packer
“We have now finalised the purchase of all Sexpo Australia assets from the liquidator, for cents on the dollar, as well as securing the international trademarks, including USA, UK, South Africa, and numerous other countries. We will now work towards completely rebranding SexEx to the original name, Sexpo, in time for the Sydney event at Sydney Showgrounds, Olympic Park, May 22 – 24, 2026”, said Ross.
Now that we have the new (old) management team in place, Sexpo will return to its original format which saw up to 68,000 people attend the original events.
